Lagos airport gets two ambulifts to assist passengers with reduced mobility

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

The Murtala Muhammed Airport, MMIA, Lagos, has received two ambulifts to assist passengers with reduced mobility and improve accessibility and passenger experience at the airport.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, said in a statement issued Thursday that the ambulifts would be deployed at MMIA as part of its ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and provide better assistance to passengers who require additional support.

According to FAAN, the equipment is designed to assist passengers who may need help boarding or disembarking from aircraft, ensuring that they receive safe, dignified and efficient care throughout their journey.

“The keys to the two ambulifts were formally handed over to NACHO Aviation Services by the Director of Airport Operations, Capt. Abdullahi Mahmood, who will oversee their deployment and operation at the airport,” the statement said.

The initiative is part of FAAN’s efforts to strengthen passenger facilitation services and make air travel more accessible to people with mobility limitations.

The authority said the provision of the ambulifts would ensure that passengers who require additional mobility support receive the assistance they need when boarding or leaving aircraft.

“The initiative underscores FAAN’s commitment to strengthening passenger facilitation services and ensuring that every passenger, regardless of mobility limitations, receives the support and assistance they deserve,” the statement added.

FAAN reaffirmed its commitment to providing appropriate support to passengers and improving the overall passenger experience at the airport, regardless of their mobility limitations.
