Clearance operations are ongoing at the 1004 Housing Estate in Lagos as part of efforts to maintain environmental sanitation, restore order, and enforce compliance with environmental regulations.
The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said in a statement on Wednesday that the exercise, which is being carried out within the estate, focuses on removing obstructions, clearing environmental nuisances, and addressing activities that hinder the free movement of pedestrians and vehicles.
“Clearance operations are currently ongoing at 1004 Housing Estate as part of sustained efforts to maintain environmental sanitation, restore order, and ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations. Operatives are actively clearing obstructions, removing environmental nuisances, and addressing activities that impede the free flow of pedestrians and vehicular traffic within the estate,” the statement said.
During the operation, enforcement operatives reportedly discovered and seized illicit drugs, cash, and other suspected dangerous items.
