Lagos Police identify officers caught on camera over alleged N20,000 extortion

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The Lagos State Police Command has identified the officers captured in a viral video allegedly collecting N20,000 from a man before releasing his motorcycle.

The Command said the officers are personnel attached to the Makinde Divisional Headquarters and have been directed to report to the Command Headquarters for questioning.
The development followed a video where the man alleged that he was forced to pay N20,000 before his motorcycle was released to him.

The officers were captured on camera during the incident, with their faces clearly visible in the footage.

The police said the officers are being interviewed as part of an investigation into the incident, following a directive by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai.

“The investigation is ongoing and appropriate action will be taken based on its findings,” the Command said.
