Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has blasted Igbo traders protesting against Chinese nationals doing business at the Lagos Trade Fair Complex.
Olayinka reacted in a post on X after traders protested against Chinese businesses over their alleged involvement in direct retail sales at the market.
The traders said the Chinese businesses were selling directly to consumers at cheaper prices, putting pressure on Nigerian retailers.
But Olayinka questioned their demand for the Chinese traders to leave the market.
“Una come Lagos come trade. Chinese people too come Lagos come trade. Una dey protest say make Chinese people leave market for una. For una Papa’s land abi?”
“Una head no correct Ori yin o pe!” he wrote.
