Living in Lagos more expensive than US – Singer BNXN says after relocating

Nigerian singer Daniel Benson, popularly known as BNXN, has claimed that Lagos is more expensive than the United States, where he now resides following his relocation.

The singer said that aside from regular bills, life in the US feels more structured and less stressful compared to Lagos, noting the absence of street-level pressure such as unsolicited requests for money.

Speaking during a recent livestream on TikTok, BNXN said, “I was telling someone, since I got to the United States, nobody has asked me to give them money. And people are also suffering here.

“Lagos is super expensive. It is more expensive than Los Angeles. Aside from housing, every other thing in LA is not expensive. For instance, I am paying $12,000 monthly for my rent. Here you just pay your rent, and you’re good.”

His comments have sparked conversations online about the cost of living in Lagos compared to major global cities like Los Angeles, with fans divided over his assessment.
