Daily Post about 3 hours 1 mins read

A man who was arrested in Adamawa State for allegedly stealing a motorcycle from a resident has been re-arrested after allegedly stealing money and a mobile phone while in police custody.

The man identified as Abubakar Isah, a resident of Mubi, was initially arrested by the police over an allegation of stealing a motorcycle from a member of the public.

While in police custody, he allegedly stole a female police exhibit keeper's bag containing her mobile phone and N278,000 cash.

Operatives of the police re-arrested the suspect and recovered the phone and the money.

The police thereafter arraigned him before Chief Magistrate Court No. 2, Jimeta, Yola, where Magistrate Zainab Buba ordered that he be remanded in prison custody.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Umar Abdullahi, requested an adjournment to enable the police forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice. The case was adjourned for further proceedings.
