Nothing strengthens the bond between a government and its people more than promises fulfilled,’’ he noted.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Last Tuesday, Governor Uba Sani commissioned the Audu Tilo Road, Sabon Gari Road, Doctor Sani Road, Hospital Road and Kpop Ham Palace Road, as well as the strategic Kwoi–Gora Road.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The Governor lamented that ‘’for well over two decades, Jaba Local Government Area did not witness the construction of a single completed kilometre of road.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>‘’It was among the 12 Local Governments that were neglected in terms of road construction. Such imbalance was inconsistent with the principles of fairness, equity and justice upon which enduring development must rest,’’ he argued.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Governor Uba Sani noted that his administration is determined to reverse that history, adding that it has ‘’ pursued an infrastructure agenda deliberately designed to ensure that development reaches every part of Kaduna State.’’\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>‘’Across our twenty-three Local Government Areas, we have initiated 150 road projects covering more than 1,355 kilometres, with the overwhelming majority already completed,’’ he disclosed.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The Governor further said that ‘’these projects represent far more than completed infrastructure; they are enduring symbols of our resolve to ensure that no community is excluded from the dividends of democratic governance.’’\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>According to him, his administration’s philosophy is that ‘’government must not be defined by geography, politics or identity, but by fairness in the allocation of opportunities and public investment.’’\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Governor Uba Sani reminded that the Kwoi township roads and the Kwoi-Gora road are strategic investments in the economic and social life of Jaba community.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>‘’They will improve mobility within Kwoi, facilitate access to schools and healthcare facilities, strengthen commercial activity, ease transportation for farmers and traders,’’ he noted.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The Governor also recalled that the Kwoi–Gora Road ‘’was synonymous with hardship, particularly during the rainy season when erosion and poor road conditions disrupted movement, isolated communities, increased transportation costs and hindered access to essential services.’’\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>‘’Today, that difficult chapter has been replaced by new opportunities. Between January and May, it received ₦15.17 billion, spent ₦1.2 billion, and maintained a balance of ₦13.97 billion as of July 5, 2026.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The chief executive noted that the Commission is intensifying efforts to improve funding from statutory sources, including the Federation Account, Ecological Fund, and VAT, to enable it to execute its regional development mandate.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Ma’aji said procurement scheduling has commenced in line with due process, while consultations with North West states have identified priority areas. Planned projects include upgrading primary healthcare centres, rehabilitating secondary schools, and providing clean water through motorised and solar-powered boreholes.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Others are resettling Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), youth vocational and digital skills development, security assistance, and agricultural programmes. A flagship initiative will distribute free fertiliser to 30,000 farming households during the 2026 wet season to boost food production and rural livelihoods.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The Commission’s Youth Skills Acquisition Programme targets 10,000 beneficiaries, who will receive technical, vocational and digital training at centres in Kano, Kaduna, and Sokoto. A portal has been created for enrolment and verification. The NWDC will also supply vehicles and equipment to support regional security operations.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Prof. Ma’aji highlighted engagements with the embassies of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, India and Russia, all of which expressed willingness to collaborate on humanitarian aid, education, human capital development and economic empowerment. A stakeholders’ summit held in Kaduna gathered expert input for a long-term regional master plan.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Discussions are also ongoing with the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), ADASHE Women Multipurpose Cooperative, eHealth Africa, UNDP and UNESCO on housing for displaced persons, digital skills, healthcare and regional development planning.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Despite the progress, Ma’aji told senators that late and inadequate releases remain the Commission’s biggest challenge, urging enhanced and timely disbursements. Although ₦145.61 billion was budgeted for 2026, actual monthly releases were only about 3% of allocations, slowing project implementation.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The CEO, however, cited differing interpretations of the NWDC Act between the Governing Board and Management, as well as board meeting delays, which have affected the execution of programmes. He assured lawmakers that the agency remains committed to transparency and prudent management of public resources.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The NWDC has established a temporary headquarters in Kano following a donation of office facilities and vehicles by the state government, which further donated land at Hotoro for a permanent headquarters. after signing a long-term contract with the Premier League giants.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>United confirmed on Tuesday that the 29-year-old midfielder has signed a deal until June 2031, ending his successful spell at Villa Park after emerging as one of the Premier League’s most consistent midfielders.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Fresh from captaining Belgium to the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Tielemans expressed his delight at joining the 20-time English champions.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“Signing for such a special club feels incredible. It is the culmination of years of dedication since I first fell in love with football,” he said in a statement released by Manchester United.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“I have had the privilege of experiencing success in the game and it has only increased my determination to achieve more.
