Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has reacted to defender Lisandro Martinez’s latest comments following the Red Devils’ Champions League 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
Martinez had criticised Man United’s board for failing to invest in the squad during the summer after the team’s defeat to Atletico Madrid in Spain.
The Argentina international said he had expected more from “upstairs,” taking a direct swipe at technical director Jason Wilcox.
“We had a fantastic season last season, and now we expect more from the top, from upstairs, to bring in more players to compete because many teams have brought in many players as well,” Martinez said after Man United’s defeat to Atletico Madrid.
“I expect more from our technical director. I have to be honest.”
Reacting, Ferdinand, in a post on X, insisted that Martinez has gone full explode mode.
“Martinez has gone full explode mode….Need to digest this,” Ferdinand wrote.
