Many injured as buses conveying APC supporters crash in Lafia

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Several supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC, were injured on Saturday when two buses conveying them to a political rally in Lafia, Nasarawa State, were involved in a road crash.

It was gathered that the supporters were loyal to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume.

Confirming the incident, Dan-Morgan Ihomun, spokesperson for Akume’s APC camp in Benue State, said some party supporters sustained injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment, adding that no lives were lost.

“Yes, two vehicles carrying supporters of our party, APC, on their way to the venue of the North-Central mega rally today in Lafia were involved in an accident.

“Some were injured and taken to hospital for treatment. Nobody died, and we thank God for that,” Ihomun said.

The incident comes as APC supporters from across the North-Central region converged on Lafia for a mega rally in support of President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

It was also gathered that party members and supporters had begun arriving in the Nasarawa State capital on Friday ahead of Saturday’s event.
