Several people sustained injuries on Saturday after a vehicle reportedly drove into a crowd attending an LGBT event in Berlin, triggering a large-scale emergency response by security agencies.

According to the BBC, Berlin police launched an extensive search for the driver, who fled the scene after the incident. Authorities also advised residents and visitors to avoid the area while the operation continued.

The incident occurred in Tiergarten Park, where emergency personnel responded swiftly and provided medical treatment to multiple victims at the scene.

Police have yet to confirm the number of people injured or determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following the crash, organisers announced the cancellation of the annual Christopher Street Day Pride event as investigations continue.
