So I don’t have any doubt about that,” said Maresca.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>“I spoke with the club for sure and we all (have) trust and the right moment to speak about that is when we win this appeal.”\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch2>\u003Cstrong> Guardiola support \u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fh2>\u003Cp>Since an Abu Dhabi-backed takeover in 2008, City have become the dominant force in English football.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>They have won eight Premier League titles, the Champions League and multiple other trophies over the past 15 years.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Maresca rejected the suggestion that those successes were now tainted.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>“Absolutely not,” said the former Chelsea boss. “I know the effort from the players, from the club, from the manager in that time that was Pep. So I know exactly the effort that the club put to achieve that kind of target.”\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Guardiola stepped down at the end of last season after a trophy-laden decade at the Etihad.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>City travel to Liverpool on Sunday for their first outing since the guilty verdict, but Guardiola is set to attend their next home game against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>“After 10 years here, he can come at any time he wants,” said Maresca. “I think it would be nice for him. It would be nice for the fans, for everyone.”\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>The new head coach has made a flawless start to his reign in charge, winning all five Premier League games so far to top the table.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>City are set for a hostile reception when they travel to Anfield, the home of their fierce rivals, but Maresca said his players would stay focused on the match.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>“Probably (it) will be even more warm in terms of environment. But the reason why I decided to be manager is for this kind of game,” he said.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>“I’m not worried at all. Again, the environment is from the players, it’s nice. financial rules.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Speaking at his first press conference since the verdict was announced, Maresca insisted he “100 per cent completely trusts” the club’s hierarchy, making him believe “we’re going to win the appeal”.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>In his 15-minute press conference ahead of Sunday’s game at Liverpool said: 9”Man City’s achievements are “absolutely not” tainted. \u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The independent commission found that between 2009\u002F10 and 2017\u002F18, Man City arranged “sham” contracts with a number of its commercial partners as part of a “disguised funding scheme” to artificially inflate the club’s revenues by £830m.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Last Friday, City confirmed their appeal because they are “innocent” and described the judgement against them as “opinion” and claimed it “contains clear material errors, of law, principle and fact and is unsafe”.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Maresca, who was assistant to Pep Guardiola in the 2022\u002F23 treble-winning season, replaced the Spaniard as head coach this summer.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Asked if he would still have joined the club had the verdict been released earlier, he replied: “I know the organisation from years ago. I know how serious they are. I didn’t think that was a problem for the club at that time.
