Matawalle congratulates Yari on campaign appointment

Minister of State for Defense, Bello Matawalle, has congratulated former Zamfara Governor, Sen. Abdul’aziz Yari, on his appointment as Director-General of President Bola Tinubu’s Campaign Council.

Matawalle’s political movement made this known in a statement issued in Gusau on Saturday by its Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Yari, a former governor, represents Zamfara West Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

Matawalle, also a former governor of Zamfara, thanked God for guiding Tinubu in appointing five prominent indigenes of the state.

“We express appreciation to President Tinubu for appointing Yari as Director-General of the Campaign Council,” the statement said.

Matawalle was appointed Deputy Director, Security and Intelligence, while Gov. Dauda Lawal was named to the Stakeholders Mobilization Committee.

Tinubu also nominated former Zamfara governors, Sen. Ahmad Sani-Yerima and Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi, to serve on the campaign council.

“This significant consideration has further placed Zamfara in an enviable position,” the statement read in part.

The movement congratulated Yari, Matawalle and the other appointees, expressing confidence in their ability to deliver Tinubu and APC in the forthcoming elections.
