The Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has donated N6 million and assorted food items to two bereaved families in Zamfara State.

Matawalle donated N3 million, 10 bags each of rice and maize, 10 cartons each of spaghetti and macaroni, and two jerrycans of groundnut oil to the family of late Sanusi Lilo, who died in a road accident along the Kaduna-Zaria road.

He made an identical donation to the family of Alhaji Aminu Matawallen Yandoto, who recently lost his wife, Hajiya Zainab.

The donations were disclosed in a statement by the Publicity Secretary of the Matawalle Political Standing Committee (MPSC), Malam Yusuf Idris Salisu, and made available to journalists in Gusau.

According to the statement, the donations were presented separately to the two families by a delegation led by the Chairman of the committee, Builder Ibrahim Isa Mayana, during condolence visits on behalf of the minister.

Matawalle urged the bereaved families to accept the losses as the will of God, noting that death was inevitable for all living things.

He prayed Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased and grant their families the fortitude to bear the losses.

The statement quoted the heads of both families as commending the minister for the gesture and praying Allah to continue to guide him and grant him success.

Members of the delegation included Alhaji Yahaya Chado Gora, Hon. Muhammad Umar Birnin Magaji, Hon. Aminu Sulaiman Yarkofoji, Hon. Musa Bawa Musa, Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau, Hon. Sanusi Sarki, Hon. Abubakar Mohammad Daura, Hon. Aliyu Sani Bk, Engr. Nura Makashe Maradun and Hon. Abdulhamid Mamanu, among others.
