Heavily armed men suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted the Medical Director of Multicare Hospital in Makurdi, Dr Jonah Ogbaji.
DAILY POST learnt that the gunmen stormed the hospital at about 9:00 pm and whisked the doctor away.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspects arrived at the facility in a Toyota Sienna vehicle and took the medical director away without identifying themselves.
When contacted by DAILY POST, a daughter of the victim, who requested anonymity, said efforts to establish her father’s whereabouts had so far been unsuccessful.
She said, “We have not really established whether they are kidnapers – the people that came claimed that they are security operatives. Workers were not able to describe them.
“Some said when they asked those people where they were taking the doctor to, they said “just here”, so we thought that maybe they took him to the Police Division.
“We have been going round all the police stations in Makurdi but he is not there.”
