Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe has criticized bloggers conducting interviews with members of the family of late gospel singer, Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, amid an ongoing dispute over his burial arrangements.
The actress condemned the interviews, accusing some bloggers of worsening tensions between the deceased singer’s widow and his family instead of allowing them to mourn in peace.
In a post shared on her Instagram page, Aigbe questioned the apparent lack of compassion surrounding the controversy.
“Have we lost our sense of humanity? What happened to compassion?” she asked.
She noted that the singer’s death had left behind a grieving wife and two young children who needed privacy and support during the difficult period.
According to her, turning the family’s disagreement into online content only adds to their distress.
“Must everything become content? Must every family disagreement become public entertainment?” she queried.
The actress urged those involved in covering the dispute to consider the emotional impact of their actions on the bereaved family.
“Whatever disagreements exist, can we allow this family some dignity and privacy to navigate their grief?” she added.
Aigbe further stressed that not every situation required public attention, calling on bloggers to exercise restraint.
“Not every situation needs a microphone. Not every conflict needs an audience. And not every tragedy should become an opportunity for engagement. Sometimes, the most humane thing you can do is put the camera down,” she said.
DAILY POST reported that Toluwanisings died on October 14, 2026, after reportedly slumping in Ibadan, Oyo State.
His death has since generated public debate, with members of his family calling for an investigation into the circumstances surrounding it.
