Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Lionel Messi has made a final promise to fans as he retires from Argentina.

The Inter Miami forward ended his international career as Argentina defeated Benin Republic 3-0 in a friendly in the early hours of Wednesday.

The match served as a farewell ceremony for the Argentina captain as he finished his career with the national team as the country’s most-capped player and top scorer with 208 appearances and 126 goals.

Speaking to the 85,000 fans after Argentina defeated Benin Republic, Messi promised to continue supporting the Argentina national team players, both present and future.

“I am going to miss all of you so much, but I will always be on your side. I will be supporting these boys and everyone who comes after them,” Messi said.
