Military air strikes destroy terrorist structure, neutralise eight suspected fighters in Borno

Daily Post about 3 hours 2 mins read

The military, under Operation HADIN KAI, has destroyed a structure believed to be used by terrorists and neutralised about eight suspected fighters in an air strike following intelligence reports of a possible attack on troops.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a post on X on Monday, stating that the operation was conducted at about 11:38 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

He said the strike followed intelligence indicating that terrorists were gathering for a possible attack on troops of Sector 3 within their area of responsibility.

According to Makama, an aerial surveillance platform identified several life-support structures and suspected terrorists moving within the targeted area.

He explained that the surveillance platform tracked about five suspected fighters taking cover under a tree, while four others were observed entering a nearby life-support structure.

Further movement was subsequently detected within the camp, prompting the platform to launch a precision strike on the suspected terrorists’ position.

According to him, the strike destroyed the targeted structure and reportedly neutralised about eight suspected terrorists.

Makama added that a battle damage assessment conducted after the strike showed four suspected fighters fleeing from beneath the tree and adjoining buildings, apparently seeking safety.

He said the operation formed part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist concentrations and prevent planned attacks on troops.
