Military plane crash: IGP DISU visits Chief of Air Staff over death of 25 personnel

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Friday paid a condolence visit to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal S.K. Aneke, over the tragic NAF 931 aircraft crash, which claimed 25 lives.

During the visit, the IGP conveyed the condolences of the Nigeria Police Force to the leadership, officers and men of the Nigerian Air Force, as well as the families of those who lost their lives in the incident.

The police chief expressed the Force’s solidarity with the Nigerian Air Force and prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved families and colleagues of the deceased.

The IGP reiterated the Nigeria Police Force’s solidarity with the Nigerian Air Force at this difficult time and honoured the service and sacrifice of those who lost their lives.

DAILY POST reported that a NAF aircraft crashed in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on October 5, 2026, killing 25 personnel.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu subsequently declared three days of national mourning in honour of the deceased personnel.

The Nigerian Air Force also immediately commenced an investigation into the crash.
