Military recovers bandits’ APC loaded with motorcycles after killing over 100 terrorists [VIDEO]

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

Security forces have recovered an Armoured Personnel Carrier, APC, loaded with motorcycles from suspected bandits following a counter-ambush operation in Zamfara State that allegedly left more than 100 terrorists dead.

The development was disclosed by journalist Bakatsine, who reports on conflict and insecurity in Nigeria’s North-West, in a post on X on Thursday.

According to Bakatsine, the recovered APC arrived in Gummi town after security forces carried out the operation against the armed groups.

He claimed the operation resulted in the elimination of over 100 suspected terrorists and the recovery of the vehicle, which was reportedly being used to transport motorcycles.

A video accompanying the post showed the APC arriving in Gummi town with several motorcycles loaded inside.

The latest development comes a day after security forces reportedly rescued an abducted official of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and foiled multiple bandit attacks in coordinated operations across Zamfara State.

According to Bakatsine, police said heavily armed bandits riding about 50 motorcycles had attacked communities in Talata Mafara, rustled hundreds of cattle and abducted an INEC official, Aliyu Mohammed, after he completed transporting NECO examination materials to Sokoto.

His Toyota Hilux vehicle and the examination papers were later recovered intact.

Police operatives attached to the Victim and Crime Response Unit (VCRU), alongside the military, reportedly tracked the bandits to Gando Forest, where they engaged the attackers, rescued the abducted official and another victim unharmed, and recovered hundreds of stolen cattle.
