The Modibbo Adama University, Yola, has suspended all activities of the Northern Nigeria Students Forum, better known as GAMJI Students.
The university’s Student Affairs Office attributed the suspension to rivalry among students seeking to lead the forum on campus.
In a circular signed by the university’s Student Affairs Officer, Aminu Musa, the management reiterated that the suspension was prompted by growing rivalry among contestants for the leadership of the university chapter of the forum.
“All activities of GAMJI in the university are hereby suspended indefinitely,” the circular proclaimed.
It advised concerned students to abide by the directive, warning that anyone who parades himself/herself as an executive of the suspended forum would be penalised.
The university expressed concern that the continued rivalry and competition for the leadership of GAMJI Students could be detrimental to peace on campus and urged concerned students to comply strictly with the directive.
