Morgan Rogers says happy to join ‘biggest club in London’ Chelsea

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of England international Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, with the 23-year-old forward joining the Blues on a contract that runs until 2033.

The Premier League club announced the transfer on Tuesday, saying Rogers will link up with head coach Xabi Alonso’s squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Speaking after completing the move, Rogers expressed his excitement about joining the West London club.

“I’m so excited. For me, Chelsea are the biggest club in London and a club I’ve always admired since I was a kid,” he said.

“I’m really excited about the project with the new manager, the players we’ve got and where the club is heading. That’s why I’m here and I can’t wait to get started.”

Rogers arrives at Stamford Bridge after establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s promising attacking talents during his spell at Aston Villa.

The forward played a key role for Villa, contributing goals and assists to 40 league goals across 85 Premier League appearances. His performances helped the club secure a top-four finish before they went on to win the UEFA Europa League last season.

At international level, Rogers has become a regular for England since making his senior debut in November 2024. He has earned 22 caps for the Three Lions and represented his country at this summer’s FIFA World Cup.

Chelsea will be hoping Rogers’ arrival adds further quality to their attacking options as they prepare for the new campaign under Alonso.
