Popular DJ, entrepreneur and ex-BBNaija star, Tolanibaj, has broken down in tears after alleging that a former employee stole DJ equipment worth millions of naira from her academy and is currently on the run.
Tolanibaj said she employed Precious Akiyemi Deborah as an executive assistant in April and later entrusted her with over ₦6 million to purchase four DJ controllers for the academy.
She alleged that weeks later, she discovered that three of the controllers had been removed from the academy. When questioned, Precious reportedly claimed she had taken them home because they were faulty.
Tolanibaj said she subsequently fired her and sent members of staff to retrieve the equipment from her residence, only for them to reportedly find nobody there.
The DJ further alleged that she later discovered that Precious had attempted to sell the controllers and had also contacted another DJ about renting similar equipment.
Tolanibaj said the matter was reported to the police, leading to the arrest of two people who allegedly purchased the controllers, while one of the stolen controllers has since been recovered.
She alleged that Precious is currently wanted by the police and appealed to anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact her.
Visibly emotional while recounting the incident, Tolanibaj also advised business owners to put stronger structures and accountability measures in place to protect their businesses and assets.
