NAF Aircraft Crash: FG must prevent recurrence — Tambuwal

Former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has urged the Federal Government to take all necessary measures to prevent a recurrence of the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State.

Tambuwal made the call in a statement posted on his X platform on Wednesday while reacting to the crash, which claimed the lives of personnel and passengers on board.

He expressed sadness over the incident and extended his condolences to President Bola Tinubu, the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of the Air Staff and the entire Armed Forces of Nigeria.

“My deepest sympathies go to the families, loved ones and colleagues of all those who lost their lives,” he said.

Tambuwal said the loss of each life represented a devastating blow to the affected families, adding that the nation shared in their grief.

He also paid tribute to the fallen personnel and other victims of the crash, describing the incident as a loss to the entire country.

“As investigations proceed, I urge that the bereaved families receive the care and support they need, and that every necessary step be taken to prevent a recurrence,” he said.

Tambuwal prayed for the repose of the victims and for God to comfort their families and give them strength to bear the loss.
