NAF conducts air operation against suspected kidnappers in Benue

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has sustained air operations against criminal elements in Benue State, providing close air support to ground forces during a mission targeting suspected kidnappers.

The operation was conducted in the Ogbadigbo area of the state, near the Enugu-Benue boundary, the NAF said on Wednesday night.

The Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said in a statement that the operation disrupted the activities of the suspected criminals and supported the advance of surface forces.

He said the aircraft successfully completed its mission before the pilot made a precautionary landing about 10 nautical miles from the airfield while returning to base.

According to Ejodame, the landing was carried out as part of established operational and safety procedures following combat missions.

“The helicopter has returned to base,” he said.

The NAF said it would continue to provide air support to ground forces and maintain pressure on criminal elements as part of efforts to protect communities and improve security.
