NDLEA arrests 38 suspects in Kano drug raid ahead of Eid al-Kabir

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Strategic Command, has arrested 38 suspects during a two-day raid on drug hotspots across Kano metropolis ahead of the Eid al-Kabir celebrations.

According to a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, on Saturday, the operation, carried out under the agency’s ongoing “Operation Sharar Mafaka”, targeted areas such as Fagge, Hotoro, Gyadi Gyadi, Kofar Mata, Sheka, and Farm Centre.

Recovered items included Cannabis sativa, Exol-5, Diazepam, “Suck and Die”, rubber solution, and locally made weapons.

Lawal said the operation was intensified to prevent criminal elements from exploiting the festive period for illegal activities.

“We will continue to hit the joints until our streets are safe and ensure a peaceful Sallah celebration for all citizens,” Maigatari said.

The command further revealed that the suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue.
