The new Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ayodeji Badejo, will assume duty on September 20.
Mrs Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, Deputy Registrar and Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, LASU, made the disclosure on Wednesday evening.
According to the deputy registrar, Badejo, a professor of guidance and counselling, succeeds Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, whose five-year tenure as vice-chancellor expires with her retirement.
She said the appointment was in accordance with the provisions of LASU Law, 2004, as amended.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Lagos State Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu appointed Badejo the new Vice-Chancellor of LASU.
The appointment is contained in a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, on Wednesday.
According to the statement, Badejo was born on Aug. 4, 1962.
She obtained her PhD in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Lagos.
She also holds a Master of Education in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Lagos. (NAN)
