Brazil legend Neymar has sent good wishes to his compatriot Gabriel Jesus following his move to Barcelona this summer.
The 29-year-old spent the past four seasons at Arsenal after joining the North London club from Manchester City in the summer of 2022.
Jesus arrived at Arsenal as a four-time Premier League winner with Manchester City, having scored 58 goals in 159 appearances in the competition.
However, he struggled to replicate his performances at City during his time in North London, scoring 32 goals in 123 appearances across all competitions, including three goals during the Gunners’ Premier League-winning campaign.
Jesus subsequently fell down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta before completing what has been described as a dream move to Barcelona.
Barcelona had hoped to sign Julian Alvarez, but the Argentine decided to remain at Atletico Madrid.
Following Jesus’ £10 million move to Barcelona, Neymar took to his Instagram Story to wish his compatriot well.
“Good luck, kid,” Neymar wrote.
Jesus signed a three-year contract with Barcelona.
The Brazilian has won the Premier League five times and will now hope to help Hansi Flick’s side secure a third consecutive La Liga title.
Barcelona currently lead the early 2026-27 La Liga table on goal difference after three matches, with arch-rivals Real Madrid behind them.
