NFL: Aaron Rodgers claims actress Shailene Woodley wanted another man after accepting marriage proposal

Daily Post 1 day 2 mins read

NFL star Aaron Rodgers has claimed that actress Shailene Woodley told him she wanted to be with another man days after accepting his marriage proposal.

Rodgers made the claim during an appearance on Cam Heyward’s Not Just Football podcast on Thursday, September 10, while speaking about his failed engagement to the actress.

According to Rodgers, Woodley accepted his proposal but later told him she wanted to be with another man before they got married.

“I dated Shailene, I proposed and she said yes. She maybe felt like she was forced to make a decision; she could have said no. But not a couple of days after that, she told me, before we got married, like, ‘I got to go fuck this guy,’” he said.

Rodgers said Woodley took off her engagement ring by March and claimed they later tried several times to reconcile.

He also disputed the account that he was responsible for Woodley’s reported depression following their breakup.

“Because her story is, I ruined her life and gave her crazy depression because I left her, but in actuality she told me that and took off the ring by March,” Rodgers said.

Explaining why he decided to discuss the relationship publicly, the NFL star said some accounts of what happened were inaccurate.

“There’s just a lot of narratives out there that are just not true, and they portray things a certain way because they can get away with it,” he said.

Rodgers also took a swipe at his former girlfriends during the podcast, saying, “The height of their fame was when they were with me.”
