Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, has raised concerns over President Bola Tinubu's reported planned trip to Saudi Arabia, questioning the timing of the journey and expressing unease about the President's health.
Sowore made the remarks in a post on X on Wednesday, following reports that Tinubu was expected to travel to Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
“Nigeria is in serious trouble! After the Kaduna rally, there are now indications that Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialabat is being prepared for another foreign trip tomorrow, October 29, 2026, amid growing questions about his health,” Sowore wrote.
The AAC chieftain said that five governors, some ministers and prominent businessmen were being assembled to accompany the President, alleging that their presence could give the trip the appearance of an official business visit.
“Hearing that five governors, some ministers, and prominent businessmen are being assembled for the trip, apparently to give it the appearance of an official business visit,” he added.
Sowore, who has repeatedly criticised the President over his foreign travels, drew a comparison with the late President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, ending his post with the question: “Like Yar’Adua, like Tinubu?”
