‘Nigeria will turn around for better’ – Obasanjo

Daily Post about 2 hours 2 mins read

The wife of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, Mrs Bola Obasanjo, has expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, saying the country will experience a positive turnaround.

She spoke on Saturday in Abeokuta while receiving a delegation of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Ogun State Chapter, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library.

According to her, Nigeria is blessed and will experience better days ahead.

“Nigeria is a land flowing with milk and honey, and things will turn around for the better for us,” she said.

She also prayed for the organisers of the upcoming World Public Relations Forum, scheduled to hold in Abuja in November, noting that the event would showcase Nigeria’s culture, creative potential and capacity to lead global conversations on responsible communication.

According to her, the initiative would enhance Nigeria’s global reputation and contribute to a positive national turnaround through international engagement.

She said, “You are doing this to encourage the youth, the less privileged, the downtrodden and the marginalised. When you serve humanity, you serve God, and Almighty God will not forsake you.”

Responding, the NIPR Ogun State Chapter Chairman, Mrs Oluwaseun Boye, said the visit was to mark the climax of the chapter’s roadshow and create awareness about the global event and its signature end-of-year cultural event.
