ABUJA: The Nigeria Immigration Service NIS on Tuesday said it resolved a technical downtime that briefly disrupted biometric capturing at its Manchester Centre, allowing the Special Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom to proceed smoothly on its first day.
In an update posted on its official X handle, the Service explained that the glitch occurred during the early hours of the previous morning, but was promptly fixed, enabling the exercise to continue without further hitches.
A total of two hundred and thirty (230) applicants with booked appointments were processed and had their biometrics captured on Day 1, the NIS said, made up of ninety (90) applicants at the London Centre and one hundred and forty (140) at the Manchester Centre.
The Service acknowledged and appreciated the patience and understanding demonstrated by applicants, and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a seamless and efficient passport application process.
The NIS said; “Following a brief technical downtime earlier yesterday morning that temporarily disrupted biometric capturing especially at Manchester center, and its prompt resolution, the exercise proceeded smoothly.
“A total of two hundred and thirty (230) applicants with booked appointments were processed and had their biometrics captured, ninety (90) at the London Centre and one hundred and forty (140)
at the Manchester Centre.
“The Service acknowledges and appreciates the patience and understanding demonstrated by applicants, and reaffirms its commitment to ensuring a seamless and efficient passport application process”.
