NNL: Akwa United announce date for new season preparation

Akwa United have announced Tuesday, 1 September as the resumption date for their pre-season preparation.

The Promise Keepers players are expected to return to camp on or before the date to begin pre-season activities.

Akwa United are expected to strengthen their squad with new players ahead of the new campaign.

The Uyo-based club missed out on promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, last season.

They will be aiming to make up for their target in the new campaign.

Akwa United have been drawn in the NNL Conference B.

Heartland and Crown FC will do battle in the opening game of the new season.

The 2026-27 season will kick-start on Saturday 31 October.
