This means if the landing cost is N1,300 per litre, the company will sell at N1,300 without adding any margin.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The measure, which has the backing of President Bola Tinubu, is expected to prioritise public transport operators and offer some relief to households struggling with high transport and living costs.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Oyedele stressed that the decision should not be seen as a return to the petrol subsidy removed by Tinubu on May 29, 2023. households has the approval of President Bola Tinubu. \u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This came as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the national leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, condemned the move.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Atiku rejected the FG’s proposed 30-day fuel discount at NNPC stations, describing it as a temporary political fix that cannot ease the hardship caused by high fuel prices.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">NDC on its part described the measure as “tokenism” and an attempt to deceive Nigerians.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On its part, the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, ADC-PCC, dismissed it as a desperate attempt to bribe Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Minister of Finance, Mr Taiwo Oyedele, who made this disclosure, when he addressed newsmen in Abuja, warned that the proposed reintroduction of fuel subsidy by some presidential candidates could hike the price of Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS) to N2,000 per litre.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also warned that such a move would destroy the nation’s economy, with foreign exchange They should just vacate Aso Rock peacefully by next year if Nigerians vote wisely.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“Any true APC member must reject this petrol price manipulation and insist on paying escalating prices instead, just to show ideological commitment to nonsense and emphasise your lifelong covenant with misery and suffering.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“Moments like these are rare in campaign and we must enjoy it – Atiku has been vindicated within just a few months. The hitherto wicked and uncaring disposition of Aso Rock is now on full display for all Nigerians to see.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>“We must enjoy this evening, for Atiku and 2027.
