The Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, has announced that 26 cargo vessels carrying petroleum products, food items and other commodities are expected to arrive at Apapa Port, Tin Can Island Port and Lekki Deep Sea Port in Lagos between July 21 and July 26.
The disclosure was contained in the authority’s Daily Shipping Position released on Tuesday.
According to the NPA, 11 of the incoming vessels are laden with containers transporting assorted goods.
The remaining 15 ships are expected to deliver a variety of cargoes, including bulk urea, premium motor spirit (petrol), crude oil, automotive gas oil (diesel), aviation fuel, bulk wheat, fresh fish, trucks and general cargo, while some vessels are scheduled to undergo repair works.
The authority also revealed that 16 ships have already arrived at the three ports and are currently awaiting berthing.
The vessels are carrying cargoes such as petrol, bulk wheat, general cargo, bulk fertiliser, diesel, bulk urea, containers, bulk pallets and bulk sugar.
In addition, the NPA said 25 ships are presently discharging cargoes at the ports.
The ongoing operations involve the offloading of bulk wheat, containers, general cargo, petrol, diesel, crude oil, aviation fuel, bulk gypsum, bulk sugar and bulk gas, among other commodities.
