Ikorodu City goalkeeper, Michael Atata has revealed the key to the team’s thrilling home win over defending champions Rangers, DAILY POST reports
The Oga Boys secured a 2-0 victory over Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos on Sunday.
It was Ikorodu City’s first-ever league win over Rangers.
Super Eagles midfielder, Aderemi Adeoye struck home a brilliant free kick into the bottom corner and put the Oga Boys in front inside six minutes.
Ikechukwu Junior doubled the lead with another impressive taken free kick in the second half.
Atata said the players gave their all to secure maximum points in the game.
“Today was all about concentration, from the first minute to the end of the game. It was a game that we know will demand a lot from us mentally, and physically,” Atata told the club’s media after the game.
“So, it was all about giving our all, putting the right effort and making sure we come out with a win. I’m grateful for it.”
Ikorodu City will face Sporting Lagos in their league game.
