The chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission has offered a N200,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect who attacked match officials after the Warri Wolves home draw against Kano Pillars on Sunday
The commission announced the reward in a statement signed by the Commission's secretary, Henry Ukah.
The incident occurred outside the Southern Delta University Stadium in Ozoro on Sunday.
The Commission described the attack as heartbreaking.
According to the release, the match officials had been safely escorted out of the stadium by security personnel and were already at the officials' bus outside the venue when the assault occurred.
The Commission Chairman Onoriode Oborevwori said the reward is intended to aid identification and immediate arrest and reinforces the commission's zero-tolerance stance on hooliganism and violence in football.
Oborevwori urged the public to provide credible information to the Ughelli Area Command Police, where the case was reported.
