Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George has expressed satisfaction with his team’s 2-0 win over Plateau United in the matchday one of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, season.
Two first half strikes from Abdulrasheed Dabai and Wasiu Falolu earned the Pride of Rivers the maximum points at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt-court in Sunday.
Finidi commended his players for their bravery throughout the game.
“I feel very happy with the performance,” Finidi told the club’s media.
“Normally we are a team that scores one goal and sit back but we are able to score two here.
“We had a lot of scoring chances but we couldn’t but we defended well as well. I’m happy with it.”
Rivers United will face Katsina United in their next league game.
