NPFL: Obioma laments Abia Warriors’ continental miss

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Abia Warriors forward, Emeka Obioma, has expressed dissatisfaction with the team’s failure to secure a continental ticket.

The Umuahia-based club failed in their bid to secure a place on the continent after recent back-to-back defeats.

Obioma described the setback as unfortunate and painful.

“It’s very unfortunate, very painful, I must say,” Obioma told Completesports.

“We held strongly to our dream throughout the season but sadly lost grip at the wrong time.

“That’s how cruel football can be at times. We never saw that defeat against Kun Khalifat coming, and that was the major blow we suffered, a disappointment, one must say.”

Abia Warriors will take on Warri Wolves in their final match of the season.
