Newly appointed Inter Lagos interim head coach, Olusanjo Olutayo, has vowed to turn around the club’s fortunes following their disappointing start to life in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, DAILY POST reports.
Olutayo was appointed on Thursday following the resignation of former head coach, Shakiru Giwa.
Inter Lagos have struggled to make an impact in their maiden NPFL campaign, remaining the only team yet to record a victory after eight matches.
The Lagos-based club currently sit at the bottom of the league table with just two points.
However, Olutayo is confident that the team can improve under his leadership, promising a determined side committed to fighting for positive results.
“To be honest, what they can expect from me is a team that is going to fight. A team that is going to put all their efforts towards ensuring that, as far as performance and results are concerned, we are going to fight and do all we can to ensure that we win games,” Olutayo told the club’s media.
The interim coach will have his first opportunity to inspire a turnaround when Inter Lagos host Nasarawa United in a Matchday Nine fixture at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, on Sunday.
