KAMPALA, UGANDA — The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has officially unveiled its newly elected national flagbearers following the conclusion of the National Women Council primary elections.
In an official public announcement issued by NRMOnline, the party confirmed the candidate line-up that will carry the Movement’s flag in the upcoming National Women Committee elections:

The leadership team brings together prominent party figures, including Ann Lumumba Ruyondo, a seasoned entrepreneur and politician, alongside Agnes Kirabo, who serves as the Youth Member of Parliament for the Central Region.
Following the internal polls, NRMOnline extended appreciation to all candidates who stepped forward to contest in the primaries. Party officials highlighted that the competitive exercise demonstrated the vibrant leadership capabilities of women within Uganda’s ruling party while actively reinforcing its internal democratic structures.
With the primary process now concluded, NRMOnline issued a rallying call to all party organs, supporters, and members across the country to put aside internal primary rivalries. The party emphasized the need to consolidate ranks, maintain party unity, and execute a synchronized nationwide mobilization drive to ensure a decisive victory for the flagbearers in the national polls.
The National Women Committee elections form a core pillar of Uganda’s grassroots governance structures, and the NRM’s early consolidation aims to maintain its strong footing across the country’s political landscape.
