NSUBEB Promotion: ‘Promotion must come with greater responsibility’ — Board member tells workers

Daily Post about 3 hours 2 mins read

A member of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) has warned that promotion should come with greater responsibility, urging education workers to improve their performance and commitment to duty.

Full Term Member 1 of NSUBEB, Hon. Abraham Umar, gave the charge while monitoring the ongoing promotion exercise for staff of Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs) at the Bida LGEA office.

Umar, who was at the centre to monitor the exercise on the directive of the NSUBEB Executive Chairman, Dr Ibrahim A. Liman, met with officials, union representatives and staff from Bida, Katcha and Gbako LGEAs.

He said promotion should not be viewed merely as career progression, but as an opportunity for workers to take on greater responsibility and deliver better results.

The Board member urged the staff to reciprocate the government’s investment in their welfare by becoming more committed to their responsibilities and contributing to improved teaching and learning across public basic schools in the state.

Umar maintained that the quality of basic education depended not only on government policies and infrastructure but also on the commitment and effectiveness of personnel responsible for delivering education at the grassroots.

He also urged the workers to use their career advancement as motivation to improve their professional conduct and contribute meaningfully to the development of the education sector.

Meanwhile, Umar expressed satisfaction with the organisation and conduct of the promotion exercise at the Bida centre.

According to him, “With the continued support and commitment of the Niger State Government under the leadership of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, the implementation of the promotion exercise would be successfully concluded.”

The Board member then urged the participating staff to remain committed to their duties and ensure that their advancement translates into better service delivery in Niger State’s basic education system for a New Niger agenda.
