NWFL Playoff: Abia Angels stun Rivers Angels to record first win

Winner David scored the winning goal as debutants Abia Angels stunned former champions Rivers Angels 1-0 in their Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, Super Six playoffs matchday two encounter in Port Harcourt.

David nodded home the only goal of the game four minutes before the half hour mark.

A disciplined defensive display, coupled with an inspired goalkeeping performance, helped Abia Angels secure maximum points in the  keenly contested encounter.

Abia Angels held Bayelsa Queens to a 1-1 draw in their opening fixture.

They  have four points from two matches, and have now announced themselves as a genuine title contender in Port Harcourt.

Rivers Angels have garnered three points from same number of matches.
