NWFL: Sunshine Queens acquire Imo Strikers Queens, set for 2026-27 campaign

Sunshine Queens are set to make a return to the Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, next season.

According to reports, the management of the club have acquired the slot of Imo Strikers Queens in the NWFL.

Sunshine Queens were relegated to the NWFL Championship last term.

The development will see the Akure-based side return the topflight, pending ratification by the NWFL board.

The return offers Sunshine Queens a chance for immediate redemption after a difficult campaign last term.

They are expected to strengthen their squad and technical department ahead of the new season.
