October 1: Nigeria’s journey has been too hard for many – Tinubu

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

President Bola Tinubu has admitted that Nigeria’s journey has not been easy for many citizens.

Tinubu made the statement on Thursday during his nationwide broadcast to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

He said that many citizens have known moments of great hope and periods of profound disappointment.

The President expressed gratitude to the country’s Armed Forces and security services, who place themselves in harm’s way so that others may live in peace.

He said Nigeria survived because of the farmer who wakes up before sunrise to farm, the trader who opens her shop every morning, hoping to make sales, the teacher who still believes in her pupils, and the young business owner who refuses to let his situation kill his dream.

“Our journey has not always been easy. In truth, it has generally been too hard for too many. We have endured war, military rule, economic crises, insecurity and political upheaval.

“Yet, through it all, Nigeria, with the indomitable spirit of its people, has endured.

“Through every difficulty, generations of Nigerians have continued to believe in one thing: that this country of ours will be better,” Tinubu said.
