October 1: Tinubu’s speech empty, wishful, disappointing – Buhari’s ex-Minister

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

A former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung has tackled President Bola Tinubu over Independence Day speech.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s ‘The Morning Brief’ on Thursday, Dalung described Tinubu’s speech as empty, rhetorical and disappointing.

His remark came immediately after President Tinubu addressed the nation on the occasion of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

“Well, the president’s speech, let me begin by saying that it was rhetorical, wishful, ambitious, but very, very disappointing and empty,” he said.

The ex-minister stressed that the speech should have done more in the presentation of successes recorded by the Tinubu administration since taking office in 2023.

DAILY POST reports that President Tinubu had called for patience with his administration, stating that the country was like a cancer patient when he took office in May 2023.

Dalung, however, accused Tinubu of telling Nigerians the same stories repeated over the years since the current government took over in 2023.
