The Ogun State Public Works Agency, OGPWA, has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental cleanliness and public health through active participation in the weekly environmental sanitation exercise conducted across its offices and operational areas at Agbeloba, Abeokuta.
The exercise was monitored by the Director of Administration and Supplies, Mrs. Ojumoola Onawoga.
Onawoga, who led the Agency’s management team on Thursday to ensure full compliance with the state’s environmental sanitation directives, commended members of staff for their dedication, cooperation, and active participation in maintaining a clean and healthy work environment.
She stressed that environmental sanitation remained a collective responsibility and should be embraced as a continuous culture rather than a routine exercise.
According to her, staff should sustain the culture of cleanliness not only during the weekly sanitation exercise but also in their day-to-day activities within and outside the workplace.
She applauded those who turned out for the exercise, noting that their commitment reflected a sense of responsibility and dedication to the Agency’s goals. She explained that environmental sanitation should be regarded as an integral part of official duties and responsibilities.
The director further reiterated the commitment of OGPWA’s management, under the leadership of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Works, Babatunde Adesina, to supporting government initiatives aimed at promoting a cleaner, safer, and healthier Ogun State.
She noted that maintaining a clean environment would contribute significantly to public health, workplace productivity, and the overall development of the state, adding that OGPWA would continue to lead by example in advancing environmental best practices.
