Daily Post 10 minutes 1 mins read

Nigerian striker, David Okereke has won the Serie B September Goal of the Month award, DAILY POST reports.

Okereke won the award for his spectacular 30-metre strike in Benevento’s 3-1 victory over Hellas Verona.

With the match level at 1-1, the 29-year-old collected the ball outside the penalty area in the 59th minute before unleashing a powerful right-footed effort into the top corner beyond goalkeeper Nicola Leali.

The goal was his first in four league appearances for the Yellow and Reds this season.

Okereke beat Modena striker Andrea Belotti, and Cremonese youngster Adin Ličina to the individual accolade.

The striker linked up with Benevento on a free transfer in August after leaving another Serie B outfit, Cremonese
