Okocha Stood Fearless, Reclaims Bragging Rights at Thrilling ‘Chaos in The Ring’

This Day about 3 hours 3 mins read

Fearless Energy Drink, the flagship energy drink brand from Rite Foods Limited, powered one of Nigeria’s biggest entertainment spectacles as the energy drink sponsor of the highly anticipated celebrity boxing rematch, Chaos in the Ring, where Nollywood actor and comedian Charles Okocha emerged victorious over street-pop star Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable.

Held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, the blockbuster event drew an impressive crowd of celebrities, sports enthusiasts, entertainment lovers, and hundreds of excited fans eager to witness the latest chapter in one of Nigeria’s most talked-about celebrity rivalries.

Tagged “Unfinished Business,” the rematch reignited the rivalry that first captured public attention in December 2023. The bout, however, took an unexpected turn when Portable walked out of the ring during the opening round and was subsequently disqualified, handing Charles Okocha a dramatic victory and bragging rights.

Tensions escalated moments earlier when Portable took Okocha to the canvas in a wrestling-style move, prompting swift intervention from the referee and security personnel. Although Portable later returned to argue that the takedown should have secured him the win, officials upheld the rules of the contest and officially awarded victory to Okocha.

Beyond the headline clash, Chaos in the Ring delivered an action-packed evening of celebrity and professional boxing contests. Basit “Joker Boy” Adebayo, Yusuf Adeniji, Suleiman Jafaru, Michael Babalola, and Shiloh “Sugar Shy” Defreitas all recorded impressive victories in their respective bouts, underscoring the growing popularity and commercial appeal of combat sports in Nigeria.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Brand Manager, Fearless Energy Drink, Rite Foods Limited, Olaniyi Aderuku, said the partnership reflects the brand’s commitment to supporting bold platforms that celebrate courage, confidence, resilience, and determination while creating memorable experiences for consumers.

He also commended the event organisers for delivering a world-class spectacle and expressed optimism about future collaborations that will continue to elevate sports and entertainment in Nigeria.

According to Aderuku, the sponsorship is a natural expression of Fearless Energy Drink’s “I CAN, I AM” philosophy, which inspires Nigerians to embrace challenges with confidence, push beyond limitations, and pursue their ambitions with firm determination.

As Nigeria’s award-winning market leader in the energy drink category, Fearless Energy Drink continues to redefine the market through innovation. The brand pioneered Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) bottle packaging in the category. At the same time, its Fearless Classic and Fearless Red Berryd variants are also available in cans, reinforcing its position as a brand that empowers consumers to dream bigger, live boldly, and achieve more.
