Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Emeka Ike, has been captured in a viral video shedding tears following the death of Nollywood legend, Olu Jacobs.

DAILY POST reports that Olu Jacobs, a respected figure in the Nigerian movie industry, died at the age of 84 on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, amid his battle with dementia with Lewy bodies, DLB.

In the video making the rounds on social media, Ike was seen in deep agony as he wept over the death of the veteran actor.

Reacting to the sad news, Ike said, “I’ve not seen him till he died.”

The death of Jacobs has thrown Nigerians and members of the Nollywood industry into mourning, with many expressing sadness over the loss of the veteran actor.

Olu Jacobs was widely regarded as one of the godfathers of Nollywood, having made great contributions to the growth and development of the Nigerian film industry.
