…Commend PAP, NDDC

The Ondo State Youth Forum has declared its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027 and pledged its backing for the “Door-to-Door” mobilisation campaign associated with Ijaw National Leader, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.
The group also called on well-meaning indigenes and residents of Ondo State to support the continuity of the Tinubu administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing journalists in Akure, the convener of the forum and Head of the Ondo Liaison Office of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, High Chief Sylvester Ayebi Sofiyegha, said Nigeria under the Tinubu administration was gradually moving away from what he described as ethnic and religious divisions.
“A nation can only achieve true greatness when its citizens place national interest above tribal sentiment. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has consistently demonstrated that the unity, progress and prosperity of Nigeria are more important than ethnic or sectional considerations,” Sofiyegha said.
He listed some of the administration’s initiatives and policies as local government autonomy, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, petrol subsidy removal, foreign exchange reforms, tax and investment reforms, the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, NELFUND, investments in the energy and power sectors, youth employment initiatives, e-Gates, e-Passports, the new minimum wage and increased crude oil production.
Sofiyegha said Nigeria must avoid a return to an era in which ethnicity and religion were allegedly used to divide citizens.
“Supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term means supporting continuity, stability, reform and national progress. It means choosing development over division, competence over sentiment, and the future over the failures of the past,” he said.
He also commended the appointment of Dr Dennis Brutu Otuaro as Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, saying more than 8,000 Niger Delta youths were currently benefiting from scholarships in tertiary institutions across Nigeria, while hundreds were studying abroad.
The forum also commended the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, under the guidance of Tompolo, saying it had contributed to efforts against crude oil theft and provided employment opportunities for youths in the Niger Delta.
The group further applauded intervention projects by the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, particularly in Ondo South Senatorial District, covering roads, electricity, water and other infrastructure.
Declaring the forum’s position, Sofiyegha said the group would support the mobilisation campaign for Tinubu’s re-election.
“The Ondo State Youth Forum hereby declares its total support and unwavering commitment to the Tompolo Door-to-Door Campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
“We will take this message from door to door, community to community, and household to household, engaging our people peacefully and constructively,” he said.
He urged youths across Ese-Odo, Ilaje, Irele, Okitipupa, Odigbo, Ileoluji/Okeigbo and other parts of the state to unite in support of peace, development and youth empowerment ahead of the 2027 elections.
“As we begin this mobilisation, let it be known that Ondo youths are not standing on the sidelines. We are taking our future into our own hands,” Sofiyegha said.
